ABOUT DIXIE GLASS GULF COAST

FULL LINE GLASS AND GLAZING COMPANY

It all started when...

In 1943, Mr. Gene Wigginton started Gulf Coast Glass at 2232 Market St. in Pascagoula, MS. Gulf Coast Glass was the only glass service business on the Gulf Coast from Mobile, AL to New Orleans, LA. Mr. Wigginton built a reputable business offering quality products and services for the glass industry. Under the direction and leadership of Mr. Wigginton, Gulf Coast Glass continued servicing the area until his retirement in 1956 when he sold the business to Homer (Red) Inebinet, a long time dependable and loyal employee.

Red Inebinet continued to operate the business in the same manner in which he was taught by Mr. Wigginton until 1973 when his health forced him to resign as owner and operator. Mr. C. W. Downs purchased Gulf Coast Glass and expanded the business by offering upholstery services to the automotive and furniture industry. He renamed the business as Dixie Glass & Trim. Mr. Downs owned and operated the business until 1983. Mr. Downs sold the glass business to Sonny Inebinet and kept the upholstery part which was renamed Dixie Seat Cover Shop. It was at this time the two businesses became separate. The glass business kept the name Dixie Glass & Trim and became incorporated. It is known to this day as Dixie Glass & Trim, Inc.

Sonny Inebinet owned and operated the business offering the Gulf Coast area with quality and dependable glass products and services for the automotive, residential, commercial, industrial and institutional markets. Along with a positive “can-do” attitude and personable service, Mr. Inebinet continued the tradition that local residents, industries and other markets requiring glass products and services have become accustomed to.

In 1983 Joe Westmoreland opened Westmoreland Glass. He owned and operated that business until 1991 at which time the opportunity to join Dixie Glass & Trim, Inc. as a partner with Carl Herndon became available. At that time, Sonny Inebinet retired.  Joe and Carl ran the business as partners until the retirement of Mr. Herndon in 1999. Joe Westmoreland took over operations as president, owner & operator.

In April 2009, After 18 years of dedicated service, Joe Westmoreland passed away and Sean & Crystal Westmoreland officially purchased Dixie Glass in February of 2010. In July of 2021, Dixie Glass made its first expansion and opened a 2nd location in Lucedale MS and in 2022 moved the corporate office into a brand new 20,000 sqft facility on Market St in Pascagoula.

Dixie Glass Gulf Coast is now a family owned and operated business operating under the corporate laws of Mississippi. We are committed to upholding a well established reputation as a service business offering quality glass products and services with dependability and responsibility to our valued customer base.
